Sharon Lee Chilson

August 9, 1943 ~ July 29, 2023 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Tribute

Sharon Lee Chilson was born in Oakland, California, on August 09, 1943, to Lyle E. Fisher and Sadie Fisher. One of two girls, she was born to a family of eleven children: Her sister and nine brothers. Her lifelong mission was to create a home filled with love and laughter where family and friends could spend time having fun, eating, and, most importantly, being together.

When Sharon was an infant, she was baptized Catholic and later made her first Holy Communion in Oakland, California. Confessing her love of Christ, she remained a faithful Christian dedicating her life to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Blessed Mother Mary, St. Anthony, and Padre Pio. Everyday, Sharon led the Rosary at St. Paul's Church in San Pablo, California.

At the young age of 21 years old, Sharon added to her family by fostering, and then adopting, her daughter, Lana. Being a mother was one of the most rewarding and fulfilling accomplishments of her life. This was a relationship based on love and compassion, while being expressed through teaching. Sharon's capacity for motherly love and teaching did not end there, as this heartfelt endeavor continued with years of care for her dearest nieces, nephews, and young family members.

Working as an electronics technician, Sharon built handmade computer components that flew on the Space Shuttle. She later followed her passion for fashion and became a hair stylist. Like a glamorous Hollywood star, and without pause, she wore the 1960's vintage style beehive updo throughout her adult life. That was her trademark and everyone loved it. Her artistic talents ranged from designing floral arrangements and doodling, to cooking gourmet meals for all who entered her home. On November 5, 1988, after being together for sixteen years, Sharon married the love of her life, Daniel G. Chilson. A true match made in Heaven.

Sharon's fun and loving sense of humor was unparalleled. Her favorite pastimes were talking on the phone and being a practical joker. You never knew what she was going to say next, but it was always funny and utterly frank! Her house was filled with love and character. She cherished her family and friends, while blessed with the ability to assume the role of a veritable sage when so often approached for advice. Sharon had a soft side. She generously gave her time and financially helped those in need. Trustworthy, honest, inciteful, and religiously inspiring, Sharon was recognized as a family matriarch.

To know Sharon was to love Sharon.

On July 27th, 2023 at the age of 79 years old, and just days before her 80th birthday, Sharon departed this life. She is survived by her husband, Danny, daughter Lana, five siblings, and too many nieces, nephews, and cousins to name. A source of strength for our whole family, and dear friend to so many, Sharon will be greatly missed and her memory will forever live on in our hearts. May Sharon rest in peace with God, and enjoy the fruits and the glory of Heaven for all eternity.
