Rodessa Rew, 94 years old was born April 12, 1924 in Shreveport, Louisiana to James and Dollie B Riley.  Dollie blessed the family with one brother Walter and two sisters, Odessa and Rodessa.

Mother was raised in Louisiana and relocated to San Francisco, Ca where she eventually met and married Levi Rew.  They moved to Parchester Village shortly after it was established where they raised 8 children; Charles, Eva, Willie Louise, Ricky, Helen, Howard, Annie, and Doris.

Mother worked as a Secretary for a few years and as a Housekeeper in San Rafael, Ca. to help raise her family.

Later in life Rodessa ended her marriage and continued working, she also returned to school in the 70’s and received her GED.  Rodessa retired from Housekeeping when she was in her 70’s.

Rodessa was baptized at a young age and was a long-standing Member at Greater El Bethel Church in Parchester Village.  She was known as Mother Rew to everyone and she was the Head of the Kitchen staff, Member of the Pastor Aid, she was nominated Woman of the Year in August 2016, and a Member of 3 Score & Ten Plus Ministry.

Rodessa lived in Parchester Village until 2018 when her health would no longer allow it.  Rodessa then moved to Alameda, Ca with daughter Doris and then moved to Las Vegas, NV to live with daughter Annie.

Rodessa’s health took a turn for the worse and she took her last breath on February 5, 2019 at 94 years old.

Rodessa leaves to cherish precious memories her children: Eva, Ricky, Helen, Howard, Annie, and Doris. Grandchildren: Tiffany, Yolanda, James, Don, James Jr., Jabar, Lavell, Jason, Richard, Raymond, Zuberi and Jamila. Thirty-seven (37) Great Grandchildren; Eight (8) Great-Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, daughters-in-law and friends.

Preceding her in Death are Parents: James and Dollie B Riley; Children: Charles, Willie Louise; Grandchildren: Charles III; Siblings: Walter and Odessa.
