Connie C. Piskac was born on December 19, 1945 in Grand Island, NE to Martin and Jeanne Wilcox. She was the oldest of eight children. Obviously, there wasn’t much do to in Nebraska at the time.
In September of 1963, mom was crowned Harvest of Harmony Queen by the Grand Island Area Chamber of Commerce, and graduated from Northwest High School in 1964.
She met her husband, William (Bill) Piskac while still in High School and both were working at Dreisbach’s Steakhouse in their hometown of Grand Island, NE. She always told us stories of how dad was a “bad boy” and a “greaser” in his younger years. She married her “bad boy” on February 6, 1965 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Connie gave birth to their eldest son, William (Billy) Jr. that same year and they soon moved to California where she then had John, Mary, and Margie.
Her name was Connie but she was better known as Mom, Grandma, or Aunt Connie. She looked after most, if not all the kids in our large family and opened the doors of her home to friends of the family. Mom didn’t have friends, she had family.
She is survived by her Spouse, William, her Children, John, Margie, Mary, her Siblings, Kathy, Monte, Marlin, Mark, Susan, her Grandchildren, Jessica, Billy, Elizabeth, Tyler, Brittany, Cody, Gabriel, Hailey and her Great Grandchildren, Jayden, Jacob, Juliana, and Elias.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Martin, Jeanne, her Siblings, Martin Jr., Judy, Matt, and her Son, William Jr.
The family of Connie wishes to extend their sincere thanks and deep gratitude for all expressions of sympathy and acts of kindness shown during this time of bereavement.
