George Meyers

July 20, 1922 ~ August 10, 2017 (age 95) 95 Years Old

George Albert “Frampa” Meyers died peacefully on August 10, 2017 at his residence in Gordonsville, VA at the age of 95. He is survived by his brother, Melvin “Bud” Meyers, grandsons, Paul and Matt Meyers, granddaughter and son-in-law, Angela and Joe Cotellessa, great-granddaughter, Lily Georgia Cotellessa and many nieces, nephews, and extended family across the country. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Marie, wife, Georgia, sons, Kenneth and David, and siblings, Millard, Clayton, Edna Osburn, Gertrude Connott, and Robert.

George was born on July 20, 1922 and grew up on a farm in Norden, NE during the Great Depression. Upon graduating high school in 1941, he moved to California, serving as a Merchant Marine during the war. He then settled in San Pablo and married the love of his life, Georgia, in 1949. Together they raised two sons and later on their three grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Frampa”. He worked as a General Contractor for decades, building and acquiring rental properties, mostly in San Pablo and Richmond. Everyone around town knew George as the hard working guy who drove an old pickup truck, keeping himself busy on the job well into his 80’s. In 2013, George moved to Virginia to be close to his granddaughter, Angela, filling his days by relaxing on the patio and telling jokes to his visitors.

A viewing is scheduled from 4-8pm on Thursday, August 17th with a funeral service following at 10am on Friday, August 19th at Wilson & Kratzer, Chapel of the Mission Bells, 13644 San Pablo Avenue in San Pablo. Internment will be at Cherokee Memorial Park, E. Harney Lane & Frontage Road in Lodi.
